OFFICE ORDER
The Housing & Habitat Policy was approved by the Government in 1998. The need to update/revise the National Housing & Habitat Policy has been engaging the attention of this Ministry from some time. It has now been decided to constitute a Task Force for this purpose under the Chairpersonship of Secretary (UEPA). The Task Force will have the following members:

ii) Joint Secretary (UD), Mlo UD
iii) Joint Secretary (Banking), Mlo Finance
iv) Principal Secretary/ Secretary (Housing), Govt. of UP
v) Principal Secretary/ Secretary (Housing), Govt. of Maharashtra
vi) Principal Secretary/ Secretary (Housing), Govt. of West Bengal
vii) Principal Secretary/ Secretary (Housing), Govt. of Tamil Nadu
viii) CMD, HUDCO
ix) Vice Chairman, DDA
x) ED, HDFC
xi) Secretary General, FICCI
xii) President, CREDAI
xiii) CMD, National Housing Bank
xiv) President, NAREDCO
xv) MD, NABARD
xvi) A representative of SEW A
xvii) A representative of SP AARC

>The Task Force mayc.oariy other officials / non-officials including representatives of other State Governments, ULBs, Parastatal organizations etc. as may be found necessary or invite them as special invitees.
The terms of reference of the task force are as follows:
i)to review the existing Housing & Habitat Policy, suggest changes and draft a new policy
ii)to review the existing schemes, policies, guidelines, laws, bye-laws and rules & regulations at the Central/State levels in the housing and habitat sector and suggest revision of these in the light of the proposed revised Housing Policy, and
iii)to recommend the broad parameters on the lines of which the model laws, bye-laws, rules & regulations of the Central/State level may be drafted to boost the housing activities and to remove legal impediments in achieving goals of the proposed revised policy.
The Task Force will submit its recommendations within three months of its first meeting.
The Task Force will be assisted by sub-committee 1orders for which will be issued separately.
NCHF shall provide all logistic and administrative support to the Task Force and its sub-committees.
